About Me

My photo
I am one consevative man who loves this great country that I have been blessed to live in. I believe we are a nation with a government not a government with a nation. I believe our rights are given to us by God and not man. That without this country and its strength, the entire globe would be in turmoil and ruled by horrible dictators. I pray, I read my Bible, I have been saved by God's Grace through his son Jesus Christ, I love my family and I own guns. Thats all.

On My Birth Party

Growing up in a small community, you are kind of born into a political party. I was born into a strong, conservative, political family. My grandfather was a prominent local politician, my mother worked for a prominent state politician. So, when I was younger, if I was asked what I am politically, I would espouse my birth party, never really thinking twice about it.
At eighteen years old, wanting to escape the small town, I moved to the west coast with my keen political knowledge and began my life.
One day (about twenty-five years ago), I was debating with a colleague on political issues of the day. I don’t remember the issue now, but remember I was losing badly and was getting frustrated. My colleague simply said, “David, I don’t care who you vote for, but just do me a favor. Know who you vote for and why.” Then he turned and walked out of the room. Now my bean was steamed and I was going to show him.
I began researching for the first time, the issues and the candidates that I and my family have always supported. I compared their ideals with my own.
It did not take me long to realize that I and my family have been supporting candidates and issued that were completely contrary to my core beliefs.
I have since moved back to a small town and though it seems to be a little better, it is still pretty much the same.
It seems as if people vote for the party more than they vote for their core beliefs and that is dangerous.
I do not know anybody who says or will admit they are liberal, but know many people who vote for liberals because of their birth party and failure to research on their own. Maybe it is due to lack of time or interest, but whatever it is, it will eventually erode the small town ideals and lifestyle we who live here enjoy. Here we still have Community Easter and Christmas programs on the courthouse lawn. Children still sing Christmas Carol’s (yes about the birth of Christ) at the school Christmas programs and there are people and some politicians who are eager to quash that as soon as possible. Unfortunately so many people I know, who enjoy this lifestyle blindly vote for the people wanting to do this.
I know this happens everywhere, not just in small towns, but this is my experience, not yours.

On our little kings

My kids think I am going crazy because I am always (as they say) "talking to the television."
Unfortunately it is the closest I will get in gaining the attention of my Senators, Dick Durbin and Roland Burris of what I want. By the way, I still can't believe Burris has the word "Senator" before his name. These two little wanna be kings only represent Chicago, which gives me no real voice in our Senate. It is a waste of time contacting them because they are going to do what they want, knowing they are a shoe in because of Chicago.
I am tired of these two power hungry employees of mine, treating me like they are my employer. They work for me, even though I didn't hire them. Unfortunately, I have no power to fire these out of control employees.
I write them, email them and do not vote for them to no avail.
I guess I should just feel secure knowing that they know what is best for me and my family.

On John Edwards

I have never agreed with anything John Edwards has said, but I do agree with him now. Edwards has no reason to explain his actions to anyone except his family. I hope one day his previously unclaimed child will understand the decisions he made during his turmoil and will forgive him.

On Tiger Woods

So, Tiger says he cheated on his wife and family because he is addicted to sex? Maybe he needs to hear it in golf lingo. Keep your driver in your bag!

on Scott Brown

I hope that Brown remembers how he got to Washington and does not bow to the usual Washington political deals. I'm sure he will be told by the fossils, "Now that your here young man, just sit in that chair and keep your mouth shut."
Keep an eye on the usual liberal Republicans that the democrats will be targeting to get the votes they need.
